I have connectivity/instablity issues with my TRB500 and 5G even though the signal is great, and I had it for a long time, I usually end up running 4G instead and it was not what I intended when I got the device. What I can read on the forum there is newer firmware available for the internal modem. Currently I have RG501QEUAAR12A08M4G_04.200.00.000 installed but there seems to be at least RG501QEUAAR12A11M4G_04.200.04.200 Can someone on support please send an updated firmware or, and also if possible include if there is any kind of changelog. FOTA is not working on the TRB500 and modem_updater doesn’t seem to point out newer firmware. only RG501QEUAAR12A08M4G_04.001.04.001.

Best regards,
I managed to download firmware but I’m not able to update the modem firmware, the trb500 is running out of ram, the UI seems to upload the firmware to /tmp but there is not space for unpacking the archive, /tmp is 120MB 0% used, archive unpacked is 81MB , and the update fails while unpacking. I have the trb500 at a remote location and no physical access atm. Is there an easy work around for this from the shell. Thanks
Well I solved the upgrade by extracting the firmware to stdout and change the modem_upgrade script. The update succeeded, however the 5G NSA N28 is still slow and I get no were the same speed as with a phone with 5G.
Hello,
Great to hear you’ve upgraded the firmware!
Regarding the speed differences, several factors could be at play. Phone manufacturers often use modems with very different architectures compared to our devices. Additionally, phone modems typically belong to a higher LTE category and can aggregate more bands simultaneously.
