I am trying to use the TRB142 as a remote console server to connect to switches, routers etc over the RS232 port. I am using a standard UTP cable with a DB9 headshell that crosses TX/RX and passes through ground - so, pretty straight forward. Using the ‘Over IP’ configuration it appears that the TRB142 is echoing the characters back to my client which it has sent to the RS232 port - even a password in clear text that i use to login to the remote switch console.
I have the ‘Over IP’ listener set up for 192.168.2.1:9000 and i am using Telnet. I get the same results if i SSH to the TRB142 over the USB(IP) and then Telnet to its listener port or if i use the RMS OpenVPN and directly Telnet to the listener using Putty. There doesnt appear to be much in the way of relevant configuration options so i am wondering if there is something i need to change outside of the WebUI. I have x4 of the TRB142’s and have tried multiple network switches and firewalls and see the issue on all of them.
root@GB90000003-fw01> show config
show configuration << here the command is echo'd back to the client

Firmware: TRB1_R_00.07.08. I get the same results with TRB1_R_00.07.06.4
Any help would be appreciated.
