TRB140 - Tailscale package removed

Reposting this because the previous thread was closed without reply. @Marijus could you provide an update on this please?

Hi all,

I’ve just noticed that Tailscale disappeared from my TRB140 after a recent upgrade.

It seems that TRB1_R_00.07.06.10 was the last version to include the Tailscale package.

(But on the TRB500, for example, the latest firmware TRB500_R_00.07.07.3 still has a Tailscale package.)

Please could you release a new package for the new firmware releases.

Thank you!

Hi rufo,

Wow. I just was trying to install tailscale. Now I know the rewards of updating firmware. There should be some kind of way to install manually or update the package list. What a pain.

Maybe it might be possible to fix by downloading packages.gz for an older firmware version and then cut and pasting and updating the entry for tailscale and adding it to the current packages.gz list. I don’t have a lower version firmware router with me, so I can’t figure this out at the moment.

Okay four hours later and I know why tailscale is not there: It doesn’t fit. "Only have 3660kb available on filesystem / overlay, pkg tailscaled needs 5635.

So, I assume the only solution is to downgrade. However, I am NOT expert in this (which is why it took me 4 hours to get to the point where I could start the install), so let’s see what the gurus at Teltonika say. I can say that the latest firmware is nice, but not nicer than Tailscale.
