Teltonika RUTX50 – Reset and Credential Recovery without Label Information

Good day,

We have installed a Teltonika RUTX50 in a vehicle for outdoor use. Unfortunately, during installation a Velcro strip was attached directly over the device label, making it unreadable. As a result, we no longer have access to the printed credentials (initial password).

My questions are:

  • Is there a way to reset the RUTX50 without knowing the login credentials (e.g. hardware reset, recovery mode)?

  • If a reset is possible: will the IMEI / serial number / mobile network parameters be retained?

  • Alternatively, is there any other way to recover the access credentials?

Thank you in advance for a brief technical response.

IMEI and serial numbers dont change when you factory reset device because they are hardcoded. As for your mobile network parameters, if you set something manually, those settings will revert to their defaults. As for credentials, you need to wait for someone from Teltonika to respond. I guess they can provide credentials for your device based on serial number. However, obtaining that serial number is something they need to assist you with.

Greetings,

You can factory reset the RUTX50 using the reset button; however, you will still need the original default password to log in to the device after the reset.

As @heartless mentioned, the IMEI and serial number remain unchanged, but all configuration settings are restored to their factory defaults.

There is no alternative way to recover the login credentials. We do not store device passwords, so the only way to retrieve them is by checking the device label. If the QR code on the label is not covered, you can scan it using the Teltonika RMS app to obtain the device password.

Best Regards,
Justinas
