Hello.
We are using Windows Tablets in cars while driving.
The tablet is connected to the router via wifi and we want live GPS-positions while driving.
Our own software gets GPS-data every 10-15meters.
We used Netmodule NB800 router before and there was a tab called “GNSS Server Configuration” where we set the Server Port to 2947.
In our own software config the GPS-setting is set to “192.168.0.1:2947” and have always worked. (Router IP is 192.168.0.1).
I cant really find how to do it on this new Teltonika router.
I dont really understand what NMEA forwarding and the rest of the GPS-settings mean.
Anyone that can help me about this?
Hello,
I recommend checking the following wiki page for detailed information about the GPS functionality on our devices: RUTX50 GPS - Teltonika Networks Wiki.
It includes all the necessary information about the available GPS settings.
If you have any further questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
Hello Marija.
Thanks for your reply.
I read through that but dont really understand the meaning.
Am I on the wrong track if I think if its NMEA forwarding that I should set up?
/Johan
In the NMEA forwarding settings, you should:
- Enable the feature
- Set the Host IP address to your server’s IP
- Set the Port to the one your server is using (as I understand, it’s 2947)
- Select the TCP protocol
With these settings, GPS information should be forwarded from the router to your server as expected.
Let me know how it goes!
Best regards,
Hello again and thanks for your reply.
I tried this but dont get it to work. It says “Connection Down” when I look at NMEA Host status.
If I make another one with 192.168.0.10 with port 2947 it says “Up”.
We dont have a server, thats the thing. Our router IP is 192.168.0.1.
And the software setting is called 192.168.0.1:2947.
Our software just asks the router to get a position.
Dont really know much about this.
Anything else I should look at?
Thanks
Hello,
Could you please provide more details about the software you are using?
Best regards,
Hello again.
Our software we use wants the shared GPS-data from the router to network-connected clients. Either via Wifi or LAN.
Our router has IP 192.168.0.1 and we have always used port 2947.
NMEA forwarding is showing “Down” all the time.
I tried to claim GPS-data via Tera Term as well (Telnet) and it says connection refused.
Is there something in the router that is blocking the router from sending out to port 2947? Do I need any rules about ports?
/Johan
