We have configured it with RS232 modem control. It seems to work for a few minutes, letting us control the modem (to send SMS messages through Auron SMS server) but then the modem stops responding. We have to go into the web interface and disable and re-enable the modem control then it comes back up for a few minutes. The web interface does not however show anything wrong. Any thoughts on what might be causing the modem to become unresponsive after a few minutes?
Hi, SMS sending could take up to 3 minutes. During that time, AT commands are not accepted from modem side. Also, does your data plan allows to send SMS? If not, this could cause hang up because modem tries to send SMS but due to data plan limitations it cannot do it.
Yes the modem plan does allow data. The odd thing is it seems to work fine for a few minutes. Was working solid for about 20 minutes today, sent 10-15 messages without issue, then the modem just stops responding until disabling and re-enabling the modem control
Yes, we do not have limits on sending SMS messages. We have used other modems in the past without issue, but this is the first time we have tried a Teltonika modem. Our older modems donβt support anything more then 3G and our provider is shutting down their 3G network, hence testing with the new modem. The modem control is set using default settings for RS232
We would need you to replicate the fault fully, send the texts, and then when you encounter the moment that the modem is unresponsive, we would like you to capture the troubleshoot file from the device. You can find it in WEBUI System β Maintenance β Troubleshoot. You can send that file to us privately. For that, I have sent you a form for private communication, please fill in the form, and in ticket ID provide this query ID which is 14342.
Please report what exact AT commands are sent to RUT device? Also send logs printed by typing command /usr/sbin/modem_control -s 1 -D9 disable modem_control before running command. Run this command and try to reproduce the issue. Should see input and output messages.
