Teltonika RUT955 for Turkye

Hello,

we use the RUT955 to connect our EdgeProcessingUnits to the internet. We now have a customer in turkye where we are not able to establish a connection to the internet.

Our customer told me that mobile decvices have to be registered at a governement site (Bilgi Teknolojileri ve İletişim Kurumu - IMEI Sorgulama) we entered the IMEI there and found nothing.

The SIM card is active and an internet connection can be established with other devices (which are registered).

Which variant of the RUT955 should work in Turkiye? We currently have the RUT955V but I guess it’s the wrong one.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

These product codes should be suitable for Turkey:

  • RUT955 0 *****
  • RUT955 H *****
  • RUT955 T *****
  • RUT955 V *****
  • RUT955 Z *****

Best Regards,

Hello Marija,

thanks for the answer but can you confirm that those modems are notified by the Turkish government? We have tested the RUT955 V with a working SIM card (Tested with Laptop and mobile phone) but it has not worked. When we checked the government webservice, we could not found any registration information which malkes us believe it is not registered and therefore blocked in Turkiye.

Could you please provide a little bit more information. Registration details, certificates for Turkiye or any other official documentation? It is quite important for us because otherwise we do not have a working device in Turkiye.

Thanks in advance

If the device has been operational in Turkey for more than 120 days without registering it, I think you may find it is impossible to register it.

Hello,

The RUT955 V ***** is equipped with a Quectel EG25-G modem. If you’re interested in the device’s certifications and approvals, you can find comprehensive information on our wiki pages dedicated to RUT955 Certification & Approvals and Certificates.

For a detailed overview of the product variants and the supported bands, you can visit our website’s RUT955 product page. There, under the ‘Ordering’ section, you’ll find valuable information about product codes and the bands they can utilize. You can cross-reference these bands with the networks listed on Wikipedia for Turkey here.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Can you explain this a little bit more in detail? How does this process work in Turkiye? Has every single modem to be registered?

Hello,

thank you for the reply. So from a technical point of view the modems you mentioned should work in Turkiye. Do all of the modems have the same IMEI (same Quectel chip inside)?

Best regards

Hello,

You have to register the IMEI to the “Bilgi Teknolojileri İletişim Kurumu” in order devices to work in Türkiye.
You can check if the devices are registered from this link: Bilgi Teknolojileri ve İletişim Kurumu - IMEI Sorgulama

If you didn’t register the devices and if you connect SIM card into the device, most likely that devices will be banned in the next 1-2 months. I have no clue how to “unban” those devices.

This procedure needs to be done for every device/modem with the IMEI.
For example, RUTX12 has 2 LTE Modems so it has 2 IMEI’s so you have to register both of the IMEI’s to the system.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with!

Kind Regards,
Caner
