Teltonika RMS auto connect after factory reset?

After a factory reset should a device with working SIM and data connection try to connect to RMS by itself?

For 1) A device that has previously been enabled and verified and connected in RMS
2) For device that RMS is trying to add after the fact

Device is RUT956 with latest firmware. I have also tried sending SMS with rms_connect and SMS comes back “Command executed successfully”.

I think I did have to paste a code from the RMS portal into the RUT956 webUI so maybe thats what’s missing.

After performing a factory reset, the device will not reconnect to RMS automatically, as the reset removes all configuration data, including the certificates required for RMS communication. In this case, the device needs to be re-registered on the RMS platform to establish a connection again.

However, if you perform only a system settings reset (rather than a full factory reset), the RMS-related data is not cleared, and the device should reconnect after initiating the connection or running RMS service restart (with /etc/init.d/rms_mqtt restart command).
