It would be nice feature to have Softether VPN solution to Teltonika router FW.
Softether is the only solution which goes thru CGNAT (no public IP). You just have to have Softether server running on the remote site. I’m radio amateur and I know there are a lot of people struggling with this problem.
Hello,
Most of the VPN services on our devices only require a public IP address for one of the devices (IPsec, OpenVPN, WireGuard, etc.). However, if both sides are behind NAT, ZeroTier is also a great option. It does not require a seperate server and you can have up to 20 nodes free of charge. For ZeroTier configuration example, please refer here: ZeroTier One VPN configuration RutOS - Teltonika Networks Wiki
SoftEther has already been suggested to the developers, however, it’s implementation has not started yet, and it will most likely stay this way for a while.
If you’re encountering issues with other VPN services like ZeroTier, could you describe them?
Best regards,
Hi
I am using remote control for my HAM transceiver. I’m using Zerotier in Teltonika RUTX-11 at the moment. Problem is that software need to “see” radio in the same network. I think UDP/broadcasts are getting dropped.

This would be a really nice upgrade to such a great router.
There is a plan to introduce a proper ZeroTier bridging solution with the next major firmware release, which might address the issues you’re experiencing.
Alternatively, OpenVPN TAP is also a good option if at least one public IP is available.
Best regards,
