TBR500 - Unable to configure Gmail account

Good Morning,
With the aim to configure some events mail on “event reporting”, i try to configure the Gmail Relay account on “System>Administrator>Recipient>Email User”

Secure connection: ON
SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP port: 465 or 587 (tried both)
Credential: ON
Username: xxxxxx@gmail.com
Passowrd: Password generated by google in password for app section
Sender email: xxxxxx@gmail.com
Do not verify authenticity: ON

Clicking on “send test email” >>> Fail

Any suggestion?

My TBR500 gateway is configured as “Passthrue”. This can be an issue? Any port to open on firewall ?

Thanks in advance for any suggestion
Kind regards

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out. Could you please confirm which RutOS firmware version you are using? If it’s an older release, please update it to 7.12.3 and check if the issue persists.

I was unable to replicate the described behavior on my TRB500 while using either NAT or Passthrough mode when sending a test email. To further investigate, could you provide logs (ensuring any sensitive/private information is hidden) by running the following command below in the device CLI at the same time you press “Send test email”?

logread -f

Best regards,

The firmware is: TRB500_R_00.07.12.3
The log say only: daemon.err uhttpd[1879]: sendmail: send:‘NOOP’

Updated to: TRB500_R_00.07.13.1
Same issue: Any news or suggestion or debug mode?

Hello,

Best regards,

Could be that Gmail no longer allows using APP passwords for SMTP Transition from less secure apps to OAuth - Google Workspace Admin Help

I have also tested my Google Password for app account using Windows Power Shell and Send-MailMessage function and work perfectly.

I have discovered the issue:
Replacing from smtp.gmail.com to the IP address (142.251.168.109) of gmail smtp server, work fine. This is a work around but work.

What do you think? Why TBR500 is unable to resolve the smtp name server?
