TAP200 reboot in loop after upgrade to R_00.07.16.3

Hi,

After an upgrade to R_00.07.16.3, my TAP200 doesn’t want to boot anymore.
After power-on:

  1. status led is on, port leds are on for a few seconds.
  2. then port leds are off, and status led blink.
  3. after some time, loop to 1) (the device may be rebooting)

Already tried a factory reset without success. Can I do something else, other than returning the device (or throwing it away) ?

Thanks,

Hello,

f the factory reset didn’t help, the bootloader menu is a special access point (AP) state used as a recovery tool when the device becomes inaccessible, even after a factory reset. It allows you to upgrade the AP’s firmware or bootloader version.

You can find the instructions here:TAP200 Device Recovery Options - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Hi,

Thanks for the instructions. I followed them, successfully retrieved the device under TAP200_R_00.07.15.4.

Then tried to upgrade to TAP200_R_00.07.16.3, same problem, downgrading again, and I’ll stay with TAP200_R_00.07.15.4.

Few notes on the tap200 recover wiki page:

  • there’s no switch plug, it’s a poe device, so press reset, then plug ethernet cable.
  • default ip (when not in bootloader mode) is 192.168.1.3, yes, but take any ip given by a dhcp server if any.

Hello,

If I understand correctly, the issue does not persist on firmware version 7.15.4?

Best regards,

Yes, it works on 7.15.4
