I recently updated my RUT241 to the latest RutOS version (7.12.3) via bootloader, after experiencing issues with a factory reset. Unfortunately, I’m now facing several problems:
Status Overview: The Status Overview page fails to load.
WAN Configuration: The WAN Configuration interface is not functioning correctly. I receive a “Failed to load data limit data” error popup, and when I attempt to edit a WAN connection, the interface only displays a blank frame with no options.
Connectivity: The connection is not working. This is likely because a mobile WAN connection is missing, but I’m unable to configure one due to the WAN Configuration issues described above.
Has anyone else encountered these problems after a firmware update from bootloader? Any advice on how to troubleshoot and resolve these issues would be greatly appreciated. I’m particularly concerned about the broken WAN configuration, as it prevents me from establishing any internet connection.
Try to clean the cache of your web browser… or… force it to use https not http
Again… maybe it is your web browser… Try to clean the cache or force https
weird… but can happen, because when you " clean " your device… the web browser does not know… and try to load the old pages from the cache…
Change the lan ip address of the device or force https will help with this cache issues.
I’m a developer and this is the same answer I always give to our customers: “Clean the cache”
I’ve already tried to clean the cache without success; I tried from different browsers e different devices with the same results (Chrome and Firefox on my PC, Chrome on my Android device).
The Status Overview page show me a popup alert: “Loading overview data is taking longer than expected”.
The Wan interface is stuck in a loop on this call:
I think that your RUT241 /etc/board.json file got corrupted during installation. Probably best just try to install it again with keep settings off. Or if you want to recover without flashing new fw you can try executing few commands via cli:
rm /etc/board.json
config_generate
If neither of these help then there might be bigger problems
I suspect my RUT241 has gone. I’m unable to log in via the CLI because the /user directory is missing.
I’ve attempted to install several previous firmware versions, but each attempt has encountered different issues. The Wi-Fi and Mobile Configuration pages are unavailable, returning a 404 Not Found error. The CLI also remains unusable.
I created a new user and now i can log in from CLI with admin user but i have no access to the filesystem. Any command returns a “permission denied” error.
I don’t know how to allow me to access filesytem. Any suggestions, please?
I’m still facing the 404 not found error for the wifi configuration page: /network/wireless/ssid.
At the moment I’m running Firmware version 7.08.2. In a previous attempts I tried to update the firmware but i lost access to wifi.
Missing random things like /user dir even after few firmware reinstall tries does not look great. Does everything work on an older firmware (7.08.2) or it also has problems? Also did every firmware install were done via bootloader on some were done via WebUI?
I tried 7.1, 7.06, 7.07, 7.08, 7.09, 7.10,7.11 and 7.12
All of them were installed from bootloader and all of them had issues.
At the moment I’m running 7.08 but I planned to install the latest one, create a new user hoping it will allow me to access via CLI and then generate the config as @Dainius suggested.
I installed the latest firmware version and I went back to the situation described at the start of this thread.
The trick of creating a user to fix the log in problem in the CLI does not work on the latest version of the firmware; i still get the same error about the missing folder /user
