Starlink Mini on RUTX10 - Configuration (RMS/Bypass mode)

Hi

I’m trying to set up my starlink mini with the RUTX10.

On my RUTX10 I have a dahua webcam (Lan port 1) and a starlink mini on the WAN port. Initially to setup my system I had the wan port connected to my home network and had setup the router and had sucessfully setup RMS Access (i.e. I can access my webcam via RMS connection). I now want to move my setup offsite and have the starlink connected to the WAN port instead of my local network.

The setup i am aiming for is very much like this case study by teltonika. Do i simply set my starlink into Bypass Mode and connect to the WAN port? Also by setting the starlink into bypassmode …can I still connect to the starlink’s wifi (does the WIFI still issues DHCP address and can I still use the starlink app when i n Bypass mode ?).

Can RMS work without the starlink being set into Bypass mode ?

I just noticed that I can put my starlink mini on a different different subnet …currently my RUTX10 is on 192.168.1.1 and my starlink is also by default on 192.168.1.1 …The internet seems to work without putting into bypass mode (i.e. i can access the internet via my RUTX10). I can’t access my webcam via the teltonika RMS acess interface. If I cange the subnet and set a static route from the teltonika to Starlink mini will this work ?

Greetings,

Your understanding is correct. The configuration requires changing the subnet. Please be aware that RMS Connect is not supported by all devices. Adding a static route would be necessary only if you decide to configure the RMS VPN hub.

If you encounter any connectivity issues, such as a persistent loading screen, we recommend setting up an RMS VPN hub as an alternative solution.

For your convenience, we have provided the following configuration examples:

Please let me know if these resources resolve the issue or if you require further assistance.

Justinas
