I’m trying to send and receive an SMS on my RUTX50, but I get “SMS Failed to send message”. This used to work until recently. I’ve reset the RUTX50 to factory defaults and I tried downgrading to older firmware. However, I still get an “Failed to send message” error when sending an SMS. I do receive SMS messages correctly. I’ve checked the SMSC, and it’s set correctly to my provider’s WINDTRE (Italy) specs.
root@RUTX50:/tmp# gsmctl -A "AT+CSCA?"
+CSCA: "+393205858500",145
When I put the sim card into my iPhone, it sends and receives SMS messages fine. Is there a way to check what is causing this error?
Could you please go to Network → Mobile → Connection on your RUTX50 and set VoLTE to On to see if this resolves the issue?
Additionally, could you try sending an SMS connected to the router’s CLI with gsmctl -S -s "<number> <text>" command?
