Slow speeds Starlink with RUT241

I have a RUT241 with Telstra 4g sim and Starlink Gen 3 connected to WAN port.

I am experiencing very slow speeds of around 20Mbps when connect with starlink I am also experiencing regular internet dropouts every 5 or 10 minutes.

The RUT241 has the latest Firmware and was factory reset with keep settings unticked

The Starlink is powered by a 12v power supply that provides a passthrough lan connection so of course the starlink router is out of play.

I have tested the starlink connection by individually connecting to my laptop and another wifi router and see imediate massive speed increases in excess of 100Mbs and a stable internet connection.

I have run the RUT241 with and without a sim suspection an issue with failover setup however the slow speeds and intermittant drop outs continue. I am beginng to think the RUT241 is not fit for purpose.

To assist you further with this matter, could you please provide the following:

  • Screenshots of the settings from:

    • Network → WAN and Network → LAN pages;

  • System logs available under:

  • For testing purposes, try lowering MTU on Starlink WAN interface to e.g., 1472, 1432;

Additionally, I would suggest checking the settings under the Failover page for the WAN and mob1s1a1 interfaces and ensuring that the Flush connections on options are enabled if they’re not already.

Furthermore, as the RUT241 has a 10/100Mbps Ethernet port and is relatively limited by its hardware (CPU/RAM), which may throttle performance.
