Sick and tired of Rutx5

I don’t know but it’s always something. I dream of router which is performing and stable for the next 5 years. However this one is every 3 months something. Every new upgrade is a near death experience because you never know what will go wrong this time.

Now the upgrade to 7:14. I lose my RMS connection to manage it remote. If you check in locally it say that it’s reconnnecting (forever btw). So you reconnect. With the first reboot is back in reconnecting state and you lose your RMS connection again.

So I think let’s upgrade to 7.14.3. Be careful you need to run some cli commends first. Well my cli connection is not working. It never establishes a connection. I am soooooo sick and tired of this bloody router. So massively disappointed. If I upgrade and I lose all my setting (especially my static and dynamic leases) I might as well start my whole network all over again a throw the router in the bin. RUTX50 icw Telefonica probably the worst router you can think of. WTF

Good afternoon,

Check this guide, which covers majority of basic RMS connection issues : Why is my device offline / not activated on RMS? - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Check if you can see any message near the “Status” icon in Devices tab in RMS, next to the device in question.

If the device has an exclamation mark with an error message, and it states that service is disabled, please enable the service under Administration → Companies → View company details and if credits are available, please toggle the service on.

Please also advise if you have any remaining credits in RMS → Companies → View company details.

Can you also advise what error do you get in cloud solutions in WEBUI, when you are trying to connect?

Arturas

GM Arturas. I have a 10 yrs management token of which 2 yrs are gone. I never understood this structure anyway but it should be ok. I can’t see what is wrong with it because I don’t understand it.

Without any error messages whatsoever it disconnect from RMS after a reboot or a powercycle. Completely clueless why. I can only access it locally and once I reconnect it’s ok until the next stop or reboot.

I have upgraded to 7.14.3 now. At least my RMS connection stays green now. However via remote access I can’t access the router via https protocol nor via ssh protocol. In fact all other devices which I could connect to are no longer accessible.

I haven’t changed or touched anything in my settings by why I am ALWAYS going BACKWARDS! Massively frustrating!

So what do I do now to access my devices on my network again. In the first place my router !!??

Hi there,

I have provided you with the instructions above. Can you advise me how the resolution went while following instructions? How the device was behaving when you re-added it?
What error you are getting from cloud solutions? Do you get an authentication code? Have you sent commands, to open RMS ports?
The steps i have advised more often than not solve RMS issues, as long as they are all followed, and followed correctly.

Arturas

I have followed your instruction. I don’t want authentication code you mean but if it is to open RMS. Yes I get those and that is not where the problem is. Once RMS opens and I can see my device. If offline red and if online green. Now on a regular bases ifs red. Meaning offline but it’s not. Since I am next to the router I can login locally and it’s says at Cloud solutions that it is reconnected which it never does. So I push the reconnect button manually and it reconnects. I save and apply and all it in green again. However if I try to open the CLI terminal or try to login remotely it doesn’t work. No clue why.. It show nicely green under my devices in RMS but can remotely access the router.

I upgraded to 7.14.3 without to many issues but very little improvement.

Hi there,

So if i understand correctly, you are ablet to get the device active on RMS (green circle).

However, when you try to establish a remote connection, and it says that the link is generated, do you not get a link? Or it times out?

Can you try to access in a different browser, o incognito window?

Arturas

Well I have tried everything possible but the end result is still the same. The RUTX50 appears to be offline but is not. If I am local I can reconnect but it loses the connection after a while. A reboot in general is detrimental. Also there is not remote access possible. Both Webui and CLI are failing. Not error messages are send. Just an endless spiral but no response.

I AM SO SICK AND TIRED OF THE B@@@DY ROUTER.

NEVER STABLE AND ALWAYS SOMETHING :face_with_steam_from_nose:
