Setting Up Multiple RS485 Temperature/Humidity Sensors with TRB256 for Automated Fan Control

Hello Teltonika Community,

I’m relatively new to Teltonika gateways and am looking for some guidance on a project I’m planning. I want to use a Teltonika TRB256 to monitor temperature and humidity in multiple outdoor enclosures spread across the country. Here’s an outline of what I’m aiming to achieve:

  1. Sensor Connection: I’d like to connect four Hailege RS485 SHT20 sensors to each TRB256 for temperature and humidity readings at different points within each enclosure.
  2. Data Monitoring: I plan to use Teltonika RMS for monitoring real-time data and viewing historical temperature and humidity trends.
  3. Automated Fan Control: I want to set up an automated trigger so that, if the temperature exceeds a certain threshold (e.g., 50°C), the TRB256 activates a fan within the enclosure to help reduce the temperature.

Since I’m new to this, I have a few questions to help ensure everything works as expected:

  • RS485 Sensor Integration: Is it possible to connect four RS485 sensors (Hailege RS485 SHT20) in parallel to a single TRB256 RS485 terminal block and address each sensor uniquely?
  • Automated Actions in RMS: Can RMS support an automated action, such as triggering a fan via a relay, when a specified temperature threshold is reached?
  • Separate Data Graphs: In RMS, is it possible to view individual temperature graphs for each of the four sensors within an enclosure, so that data from each sensor can be monitored separately?

Thanks in advance for any guidance or tips on setting this up with the TRB256 and RMS!
