Send varius SMS with RUT 241 from a PLC

What is the preferred way to send variable status messages via SMS using a PLC (AXC F 1152) and a RUT 241?

Could you please clarify what exact variables do you have in mind?

If I understood correctly, for your use case, you can utilise Data to Server feature. The Data to Server feature provides you with the possibility to set up data senders that collect data from various sources and periodically send it to remote servers.

You can select which data is going to be collected and in the last step, you should choose SMS as an option and define the phone number to which the messages should be sent. For more information, please refer to this wiki article:
