I have the RUTX50 in a motorhome configured to use wifi while parked next to our house, or to failover to mobile when away. This works very well. Usually the wan wifi light goes out once we are away from the house but, just occasionally, it stays on.
It is as if it has failed to get the message that the wan wifi connection has been lost and has no means of subsequently updating itself.
As I said everything works as it should, the webui status shows the wan wifi as being offline and yet the light remains obstinately on.
Note that the access point wifi lights work as they should, it is only the wan wifi light that is on when it shouldn’t be.
Note that I have checked with the Wifi Analyser app that there is no wifi at all other than the access point wifi from the RUTX50.
Any ideas?
Hello,
Could you please check whether the “Flush connections on” options are selected for both your wired WAN and mobile failover interfaces under Network → Failover → Multiwan → “edit” on both interfaces?
If they’re not, I’d suggest enabling them for both interfaces and observing whether this improves the situation. This setting clears existing connection tracking entries, which can otherwise sometimes cause stale or mismatched routing states when interfaces switch.
Additionally, please ensure your device is running on the latest (7.15.2) or mass production (7.14.3) firmware.
Best regards,
M.
Thank you MatasR for your assistance.
My device is on 7.15.2.
No interface had any flush connections on; they are now all set to on.
I will not be able to tell if flushing the connections makes a difference until I have been away a few times and the wifi light has not stayed on: it only used to happen about once in five trips but I will feedback in the future.
Thanks again
Andrew
