RUTX50: UE identity cannot be derived

I have a RUTX50 installed in my camper, attached to a Poynting MiMo-3-V2-17 antenna on the roof. It has a Dutch Vodafone SIM card installed.

I’m currently in France, and I’m seeing disconnects every few minutes. Each time, the Web UI displays the message “Mobile EMM reject cause: UE identity cannot be derived by the network” along with the disconnect.

I’ve done a factory reset, and all mobile connection settings are set to “auto”. Any assistance to get this working properly would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, are you sure that SIM card can work in roaming? Is APN correct? Can you try to disable 5G by selecting 4G + 3G network type?

So this SIM card worked in Luxembourg and Belgium, but I double checked by putting it in my iPhone, and noticed the “Allow roaming” toggle was switched off. I switched it on, put it back in the RUTX50, and now the disconnects happen a lot less often. They still do, but just not as frequent. At least this is usable. Thank you so much, and I can’t believe I overlooked this.

Still wondering what the “UE identity cannot be derived by the network” message means though.

There is no such a button as Allow roaming in RUTX50. What are you talking about?

As I said, I put the SIM card in my iPhone to verify whether roaming was allowed. That’s where I changed the “allow roaming” toggle (or however it’s called).

Oh, okey, got it. So still, can you try my suggested steps?

So I have been trying your suggestions over the past few days and I’m still seeing consistent disconnects, every time with the same message: “Mobile EMM reject cause: UE identity cannot be derived by the network”.
