RUTX50 Tailscale Problem after update to RUTX_R_00.07.24.1

Hello,

I’ve been running a RUTX50 in a camper van for a year now, with a WAN connection via LTE/5G, currently running firmware version RUTX_R_00.07.24.

Tailscale is enabled as the VPN for remote administration via the WebUI and to send GPS location data to a self-hosted Traccar server.

After updating to firmware version RUTX_R_00.07.24.1, the router is shown as “connected” in the Tailscale dashboard, but external access to the WebUI is no longer possible. Furthermore, GPS location data is no longer being sent to the external Traccar server, even though the RUTX50 WebUI displays the connection status to the Traccar host as “Up”; however, no data is being transmitted.

After downgrading to version RUTX_R_00.07.24, everything works as before.

I wasn’t able to reproduce this issue on my end. To help us identify what might be blocking traffic on your device, please try the following steps:

  1. Update the device to the newest firmware version (RUTX_R_00.07.24.3). This build includes system fixes that may resolve the issue. We recommend unchecking “Keep settings” during the update for a clean installation.
  2. Re-add the device to Tailscale and test the connection again.

If the issue persists after updating to 00.07.24.3, please share your step-by-step configuration so we can accurately replicate your environment and troubleshoot further.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I had already updated to version RUTX_R_00.07.24.3, but unfortunately that didn’t work either.

After updating again without selecting “Keep Settings,” the problem is resolved.

However, there’s still quite a bit of work to do to restore the device to its previous state.
