Nothing is being detected in SIM2, we’ve swapped the sims over and the sim that is in sim 2 works fine in SIM1, the interface is enabled. We’ve tried pulling out SIM1 and only having a sim in sim2 but it doesn’t work

Since it looks like one of the slots isn’t functioning properly, rather than being a software-related issue, it sounds like it is hardware-related, which would mean you would have to look into getting the device replaced or repaired by your distributor/shop that you’ve originally purchased the device from.
