I recently purchased a RUTX50 modem and encountered an issue. I removed the Nano SIM from my phone and placed it into an adapter. When inserting the SIM into the tray, it seems the card doesn’t sit properly, causing it to lift slightly during insertion. I’ve tried different adapters, but the problem persists. While the SIM card functions correctly once inserted, removing it is problematic—the tray gets stuck each time. The only way to remove the card is by unscrewing the device’s front panel. Is this normal, or could my SIM tray be defective?
First, I tried using the adapter that came with the modem, but the SIM card doesn’t stay in place. When I turn the adapter upside down with the card inside, it falls out. My SIM card hasn’t been cut; I got it like this from Telia.
Then I tried the adapter that came with the SIM card from the operator. When inserted into the modem’s SIM tray, everything works, but when I try to eject it with a pin, the mechanism doesn’t engage. The tray itself isn’t broken, the spring works fine, and an empty tray ejects properly.
It looks like the issue might be the card’s size – could it be too thick?
I have exactly the same with one of my SIM cards.
The provided SIM adapters are loose, the SIM can only be inserted quite forcefully - luckily they have come all out with me.
Hopefully Teltonika can provide a solution (besides glueing the sim cards into the adapter ).
