My country house is located in a very rural area with low Internet connection (Sweden, Sörmland)
Previously I have used a cheap Huawei-router with only OK results, so I bought the RUTX50 to get better performance. But the RUTX50 gives me no connection at all?
It’s a Telia SIM, Signal strength is OK with two diods. WiFi connection between computer and RUTX50 is fine and I can access the setup function through WiFi. But I do not get an Internet connection? In the city, the RUTX50 works fine. Whats wrong?
Hi, are all antennas attached onto RUTX50?
Yes they are.
The strange thing is that I got 2 dots external reception and full WiFi function.
And still the browser in the computer just keeps spinning, no connection with Internet?
And in the city everything works fine.
I dont have any experience with your service provider or with this particular device, but I would try the following:
ping 8.8.8.8 from your computer? (to check basic connectivity)
ping google.com from your computer? (to check the DNS)
If those two tests are successful, it could be an MTU problem.
If those two tests are unsuccessful, try to ssh to the device and repeat the tests from there.
Thanks for the advice!
I’m new at this, what does ssh mean?
SSH is a secure shell. If you are using a Windows PC, you can download Putty and then enter the LAN IP of the Teltonika device. It will open up a command prompt on the device. The login is “root” and the password is your admin password. You can then try to ping 8.8.8.8 from the device itself.
OK, Thank you very much!
