I have the support request. I will deal with it in around 2 hours, many thanks for your help.
now I understand.
English is not my mother language so what I meant is āTeltonika provided an update from version 08 to 11ā.
But anyway - I am not touching version 11 until it is clear whatās going on in this case.
Because I tried on my own RUTX50 and there wasnāt such a problem, everything went smoothly.
Aha so youāre on 11 and all is fine?
Maybe I will shoot off one here as well then.
Need to thinkā¦
My little bit wonāt be of much help but this is what i didā¦
I updated the device firmware first, all went well. Then i updated the modems firmware afterwards from 08 to 11, all went well in the end!
After applying the modems firmware which took so long i thought it had crashed in some way i had an onscreen message basically saying success.
But i wasnāt prompted to do anything further and the modems firmware version remained unchanged!! I had no internet access at all.
I manually rebooted the router and all went well, i now have the latest device and modem firmwares installed and access to the internet restored too.
Puuuh that was a bumpy ride mateā¦
Thanks. I completed the form. How do I get the troubleshoot file to you? I cannot upload it here.
Yeap, tried one more in addition, also fine. Just wait a bit after update while module will do itās own setup things and I think itās good to go.
What 5g band are your modems using? I see that in a previous version of the modem software (07) there was a big issue with band N28 that caused very similar issues to the ones I see now. I wonder if that issue has come back into version 11 of the modem firmware.
You should receive an email from us shortly. Please attach your troubleshoot file by replying to that email.
Best Regards,
5G N78 on my side
Hi, will FOTA use a wired WAN connection if present or will it rely on the 4G/5G connection.
Many thanks in advance, and just seeing if I can cut out the potential for a connection dropout whilst the modem is downloading / setting up.
Cheers,
Mike
@Mike Mine successfully used the wired WAN connection whilst the modem update took place, until the point where the RUTX50 needed to reboot obviously.
Hi, it will use what is current primary route for download the update. But during the update module will disconnect completely, after update it will do itās own setup and connection should come back.
Thank you ⦠M
Cheers ⦠Iāll hold off the update until I can get a wired connection to it ⦠Mike
Yes, you will lost connection to device for some time if mobile is the only internet source.
Thank you I have emailed troubleshoot file to you at 10:35am
Thanks to support for sending instructions on how to rollback to the earlier modem firmware. Went back to the ā08ā version and all the issues went away. However, after leaving it like that for a few days as it was stable I decided to try the update to the ā11ā version again.
Second time around I applied the ā11ā update successfully and did not see a repeat of any of the issues. So I am at a loss to explain that
Either way, Iām now happy that the update is done and there arenāt any issues.
