RUTX50 Load Balancing IP1 over WAN IP2 over 5G

I have connected a device to port 1 of the RUTX50. When the device logs on to the server with IP address 1, communication should always run via the WAN interface. If the device logs on to the server with IP address 2, the communication should always run via the 5G interface.

Can I configure this and if so, how?
Since it is always port 1 on the RUTX50, I cannot work with V-LANs as described in the manual.

Many thanks for your help.

Hello,

Your setup can be configured with Load Balancing on the RUTX50. Here’s how:

  1. Login to the router’s WebUI.
  2. Navigate to Network → Failover, set the Mode to Load Balancing, enable it on both wan and mob1s1a1 interfaces, then click Save & Apply.
  3. Create a new Rule Interface: enter a name for it, then click Add.
  4. In the Rule Configuration window, specify the IP address of your LAN-connected device and set the Destination Address to the IP of the first server.
  5. Scroll down and add a new Policy instance by entering a name and selecting Load Balancing as the policy mode.
  6. Assign this policy rule to the wan interface in Members used and set Last Resort to Default.
  7. Scroll to the top of the Rule Configuration window, and in the Policy assigned field, select the policy rule you just created for the wan interface.
  8. Click Save & Apply. Now, traffic from your device to the specified server IP address will route through the wired WAN interface.

Repeat these steps for mob1s1a1, specifying the other server’s IP address, in the rule policy configuration, selecting mob1s1a1 in Members used field and in Policy assigned newly created second rule.

I hope this helps! If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out.

Best regards,

Hello,

Please try configuring Load Balancing on a device reset to factory default settings by following the steps provided in our wiki article: Load Balancing Rules/Policies Examples. This example demonstrates setup using different VLANs, however, if you prefer, you can specify a particular LAN device IP address in the Source Address field as outlined in the previous instructions.

If you’re still experiencing issues after configuring Load Balancing on a freshly reset device, could you provide screenshots of your configuration page?

Best regards,
