RUTX50 intermittent loss of IPv4 connectivity on Telia FI network

Hello,

Apologies for the delayed response, and thank you for the detailed information.

Could you please try the following steps with the new firmware:

  • Perform the bootloader procedure again.
  • Disable VoLTE and set the device to use 4G only.
  • Change the PDP type to IPv4 only, as you did previously.
  • Enable 5G NSA on the device ( after you tried 4G only )

If at any point connection drops please take troubleshoot file after each time you change settings.
( please don’t post any troubleshoot files in here will send you further steps where to upload)

Once you’ve made these changes, please let me know how it goes and whether the issue still occurs.

If the issue persists, we’ll investigate it further and look into the possible cause.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Best regards,
Z.

Hello Zilvinas,

Thank you for looking into this case and for the detailed instructions.

I have now completed the requested preparation steps:

- Upgraded the device to RUTX_R_00.07.24.3 using the bootloader recovery procedure

- Reconfigured the device from scratch using the setup wizard with basic settings

- Set the preferred network type to 4G only

- Disabled VoLTE

- Changed the PDP type to IPv4 only

- Left APN detection set to Auto

- Left band selection set to Auto

- Disabled the DHCPv6 server

- Disabled both Wi-Fi radios (I use a separate access point)

Current test configuration:

- Telia Finland

- 4G only

- VoLTE disabled

- IPv4 only

- Fresh configuration following bootloader recovery and a factory reset

I will now run the device in this configuration for several days and monitor the connection.

If no connectivity issues occur during the 4G-only test period, I will proceed with the next step and enable 5G NSA as requested. If the issue occurs at any stage, I will collect a troubleshoot file immediately and report back with the results.

Thank you for your assistance. It is greatly appreciated.

Hello Zilvinas,

A small update on the testing.

I completed the requested test procedure:

- Updated to firmware 07.24.3 using bootloader recovery

- Performed a factory reset and configured the device from scratch

- Disabled VoLTE

- Set the PDP type to IPv4 only

- Set the preferred network type to 4G only

I have been running the device in this configuration since September 5th, for a total of one week.

During the test period, there were no IPv4 connectivity failures, DNS resolution failures, or mobile network disconnects recorded in the event log. The 4G-only test was completely clean.

Based on these results, I have now started the next test phase and switched the device from 4G-only mode to 5G NSA as requested.

I will continue monitoring the connection and will collect a troubleshoot file if the issue reappears.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hello,

Unfortunately, the disconnection issues returned after activating 5G NSA. A little over a day has passed, and there have been three IPv4 failures (one of which also reported a DNS failure) and one mobile data disconnection.

I have downloaded the troubleshoot file. Please let me know how I can send it over to you.

Thanks in advance for your help!
