RUTX50 hourly high temperature spikes

Hi together, i bought a rutx50 in october 2024 and normaly i am rly happy with it…rly nice performance and easy configuration. I am using it in an outdoor antenna case on a 10m radio tower powered by poe and it is configured as just a bridge for 5g network to a medium home network, wlan is disabled, gps is disabled, nearly everything is disabled.

only mqtt publisher is used to give stats to a home assistant server.
While the weather is now slowly changing to moderate 20 degree Celsius i startet monitoring the temperature and found some strange behavior that occurs exactly every hour. i see high temperature spikes with a rise of 10 degree and then a slow cooldown.

there are no hourly jobs in my home network that causes traffic. How can i find out what causes these spikes and if it is maybe a hardware problem.

Hello there!

Would it be possible for you to attach some pictures of the entire setup that you have? What I want to find out is whether there are any other devices and such besides the router box that you have installed. Additionally, if possible, would it be possible to take out the router, disconnect it from any power source, unscrew the front panel and take out the PCB to inspect it? It would be smart to check if there are any possibly burnt parts or anything that doesn’t look right.

If you plan on attaching any pictures, please ensure that no sensitive information (such as passwords, IMEI, serial numbers, etc.) is not visible.

Thank you,
M.
