RUTX50 Firmware stuck on 7.14.2

Hi, this recent firmware issue has caused me issues with the RUTX50. I cannot get it to take 7.14.3. These are the steps I have tried so far:

  • run the CLI script as described on the firmware wiki
  • Update from server
  • Update from downloaded file

None of these work, it reboots and is stuck with the 3 signal strength leds cycling in sequence. The only way to get it back up is to power cycle and then in boots in 7.14.2.

How do I get past this? I have spend hours on this and reconfiguring my 3 Teltonika since this firmware release issue and it has been extremely frustrating!

Please help

Good afternoon,

In the first instance, can you check whether installing firmware via bootloader method would work? Instructions : RUTX50 Device Recovery Options - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Firmware : RUTX50 Firmware Downloads - Teltonika Networks Wiki

If the reset is successfull, you can try downgrading the firmware again, and checking after a bootloader reset, whether you are able to normally install 7.14.3.

Hi Arturas,

I tried the LAN cable using a usb-c hub with network port from my macbook (wifi switched off and static ip)… I managed to get connected and all lights flashed as described but I could not access the router. I was able to ping it from terminal, ssh gave connection refused and google chrome also refused connection… so I rebooted and used the cabled connection to do the update with the previously downloaded firmware. It worked and correctly shows as installed. No idea why the bootloader process failed.

I have reset up 2 routers with mesh network using clean config and will monitor. If ok I will then reconfig the third RUTX10.

Thanks for your help.

Hi there,

Happy to hear you managed to get the device up and running.

Please advise if you encounter further issues.
