RUTX50 does not reconnect to WLAN after return - cont

Continuation of my discussion in april with Marijus !

I have new insights into this behavior. RUTX50 seems to recognize the iPhone but cannot connect. The iPhone disables the hotspot connection after a while when I’m outside and I have to turn the hotspot off and on again when I come back. When I do this, the iPhone assigns a new BSSID to the hotspot. Using RUTX50’s scan function I can see this new BSSID. If I edit the old BSSID of the previous connection with the new BSSID, the RUTX50 can reconnect.

Is there a way to force RUTX50 to ignore the BSSID, respectively to use the new BSSID when the SSID is the same ?

I haven’t had an iphone for MANY years, so don’t know much about iOS.

Have you tried turning off the phone’s ‘randomize MAC’ function, to see if this solves the issue. Certainly on my Android phones, this function is ON by default.

If you do a Google search on “iOS MAC Randomization”, you should find how to turn it off.

Just a thought … Mike

Hi, just delete BSSID from RUTX configuration, then it will connect by SSID name.
