RUTX50 continous lose of wan ip

HI

My RUT50X is experiencing loose of IP wan every 2 hours
I can access the router through the sms utilities and see this:

Router name - RUTX50; WAN IP - NO_WAN_LINK
; Data Connection state - Disconnected; Network type - 5G-NSA; Signal Strength - -70; New FW available - No;

After a reboot sms command I can restore the link but takes a few hours to go down

Router name - RUTX50; WAN IP - 77.211.XX.XX
; Data Connection state - Connected; Network type - 5G-NSA; Signal Strength - -72; New FW available - No;

This happens after the two last updates in firmware RUTX_R_00.07.10
and continues with the RUTX_R_00.07.10.2 (the latest)

I configured the router to 5g_4g_3g and bands in auto mode

I got this network parameters:

  • Network type 5G (NSA); VoLTE
    • Carrier aggregation Active
  • Bandwidth 10 MHz / 10 MHz
  • Connected band LTE B28 / LTE B20
  • RSSI -75 (dBm) Good
  • Band LTEB28
    RSRP -100
    RSRQ -7
    SINR 9
    Band LTE20
    RSRP -102
    RSRQ -14
    SINR 7

Any suggestion to solve it?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

You can check the logs for any potential reasons why the router is losing connection by navigating to System → Maintenance → Troubleshoot and pressing Show next to System Logs.

Additionally, you can set up a ping reboot function. This will ping a specified address, such as 8.8.8.8, and if the pings are unsuccessful, it will automatically reboot the router to restore the connection. More information on this can be found here: Ping/Wget Reboot.

Best regards,

Thanks for your answer

Yes i have already the ping reboot function running and tries to reconnect the network.

I switched the network to 4G+instead of 5G to see what hapens but is too early to get conclusions.

The troubleshoot file doesn’t show any special problem

Hello,

Could you confirm whether the ping reboot function helps to restore the connection? From what I understand, you’re currently sending an SMS command manually to reboot the router, and it reconnects to the mobile network after the SMS triggered reboot.

If the issue persists, please let me know. I will send you a form to contact you privately so I can review a troubleshoot file.

Best regards,

Hi Marija
Thanks for the answer

Yes the reboot on ip down helps.
I came back to the 5g NSA, 4G+ was the same connectivity issue…

Every 1,2-2 hours the system auto reboots and gets ip again.
Better than nothing.

I control several devices through this router that is linked with the house one (one ubiquiti unifi 3G router). It’s important to gain access.

Next week (the router is in a distant location) I will replace the sim card with a new one to investigate if is responsible…

I will inform

A.

hank you for the information. I will be waiting for your feedback.

Problem solved
Just modifying through cli (ssh) the configuration of the dhcp in the mobile interface.

Like this:

Hello @Rovie @mtk_matrix ,

I’ve consulted with our developers regarding this issue, and they suggested adding the line option dhcp '0' to the config interface 'mob1s1a1' section to resolve it. Here are the steps to make this change:

  1. Log in to your router via CLI (more details here: Command Line Interfaces)
  2. Run the command vi /etc/config/network
  3. Locate config interface 'mob1s1a1' and press “i” to enter edit mode
  4. Add the line option dhcp '0' under the mobile configuration section
  5. Press “Esc”, then type :wq and hit Enter to save and close the file

Thanks to Marija and all the Teltonika team for the help
