Has anybody upgraded to firmware 7.15 yet?
Not seen any firmware 7.15 related posts yet. Is everybody holding back, or has your upgrade been a smooth and troublefree experience?
Given that i’ve had no response, this would suggest that we’ll all holding back waiting for someone else to update first!!
Upgraded 3 devices on the 7th June, no issues so far
I have upgraded 3 devices as well (RUTX11 though) and mostly smooth. I did have 1 unit that appeared to crash and get stuck in a reboot loop about 30 minutes post-upgrade, but it has been stable since after a full power cycle. Not sure what happened there.
I have upgraded a RUTX11 from 7.13.4 to 7.15, first time the modem became unreachable I had to downgrade perform a new factory reset and restart.
I have noticed a substancial increase in RAM usage. Not a problem at the moment (running about 74% on a RUTX50) but creeping closer to my considered threshold of 85% (if you’re a Systems Dynamics’ fan)
Ran an upgrade on a RUTX11 test device here, can confirm that modem became unreachable which required a downgrade.
We roll our own and its been fine, done about 20 so far.
Something new today… never seen this before. Upgraded another RUTX11 last night, after rebooting, the primary WAN (eth1) was offline. No DHCP was being received from the ISP modem (Spectrum). I tried rebooting the RUT but that did not help. I also tried forcing the Ethernet port to 1000M in case it was an autoneg thing (it wasn’t).
I ran tcpdump on the eth1 interface and saw DHCP requests going out, but no responses back. I had to call the ISP and have them power cycle the modem on their end, after about 10 minutes the DHCP reply came in and everything was working again.
I’m guessing that there are now a good few people who have learned how to sort things out themselves without making Teltonika aware they have had issues with an update.
Although this is great, and it is, it’s not good for others and Teltonika because they don’t get to know there’s a problem.
Without a doubt, updating the firmware on my RUTX50 Teltonika router is becoming the most dodgy / worrying experience ever.
I went for it last night and updated my RUTs firmware and for the third time in a row it took more than 30 minutes to complete, but it was successful though i have to say.
It used to take roughly 5 minutes, i’m guessing that for whatever reason 30 mins+ has become the new norm for an update.
I noticed RS485 via IP on RUT956 not working. The Connection is opened but no data will pass through.
Previous FW worked fine.
