Recently did a modem firmware update that was offered in the webUI and now neither sim manages to get a data connection. Both have network connections, just no data.
I’ve tried sims in other devices, they both work fine.
I have 4G coverage and I’ve tried in different locations.
Sims are two different networks and both worked just fine pre-update.
I’ve performed a full factory reset on the device twice with no luck.
I’ve reached out to Teltonika support as I bought directly via Amazon and have been getting no replies.
Router is currently useless and has been this way for 2 weeks.
Any help appreciated as I need to get this working asap.
It appears that the signal strength is poor, which may be preventing the module from connecting to the network properly. Recommendations for optimal signal levels can be found here: Mobile Signal Strength Recommendations.
Please ensure that all antennas are properly connected to their respective sockets. If you are using the original antennas, verify that they are indeed mobile antennas (there may be a mix-up with Wi-Fi antennas, for example). Also, ensure that the antennas are securely screwed in and positioned at a 90-degree angle for optimal performance.
Thanks for the reply. In the current location yes there is quite low signal strength, but as mentioned above I’ve tested this in several locations and while driving along and this has not connected once. No data link is possible. This also happened directly after a model firmware upgrade.
Could you please confirm if there was any difference in signal strength when testing the device at a different location? Was the signal better or worse?
Regarding the antennas, could you please confirm if you have checked them and ensured they are properly connected?
Testing at other locations has resulted in better signal but before the modem update I had no problems getting a data connection in this exact spot, even though signal is not great here. I’ve tested in locations with good and great signal, but still no data connection. Other routers I’ve tried also have no problem connecting at this location using the same antenna.
From the screenshot, I can see that the RSRP signal strength is poor, which is likely preventing the modem from establishing a stable connection. Have there been any locations where the signal strength was good or excellent?
Additionally, could you specify which routers you have used for testing mobile connection? Have you tested the current SIM card in those routers to compare the connection quality?
Lastly, could you provide the modem firmware version you were using before the update and the version currently in use?
I’ve tried several locations with good signal strength but I’m not currently in a position to move the router again at this time.
I’ve used a Three mobile dongle and an old RUT240, both were able to establish a data connection withing a minute of so of starting up.
Unfortunately I do not have a record of the modem firmware version before the update. I can see the firmware version (RUTX_R_00.07.10.2) when the modem last checked in on RMS, but I cannot see the modem version. New Modem firmware is EG12EAPAR01A09M4G_01.001.01.001
It seems that your device does not have the latest modem firmware. I have sent you a form to fill out; once it is submitted, I will provide detailed instructions on updating your device’s modem via the CLI. Please use “10420” as the ticket ID.
