RUTX12 - Hardware discrepancy: Motherboard SN and Case SN do not match

Hello Teltonika Support Team

I am writing to ask a general question regarding the hardware traceability of the RUTX12 router.

On a device I am analyzing, I noticed a clear discrepancy between the internal motherboard serial number and the physical case serial number. To give you an idea of the hardware generations involved:

  • Hardware Revision: 0505
  • Internal Motherboard SN: 1127XXXXXX (Board Batch: 0022)
  • External Case SN: 1113XXXXXX (Case Batch: 010)

Since the internal SN and the external SN do not match, I would like to know from a procedural standpoint:

  1. Does Teltonika ever release units from the factory with different internal and external serial numbers?
  2. Is this specific scenario (mismatching serials but active hardware) a standard outcome of an official Teltonika RMA / motherboard replacement process?

I prefer not to share the full serial numbers or MAC addresses publicly for security reasons, but I would highly appreciate it if you could confirm if an RMA repair is the standard explanation for this type of mismatch.

Thank you in advance for your time.
