If I wanted to replace an RUTX11 in the field that has a fairly basic antenna connected to the device, would an RUTM50 be able to function similarly with just those 2 LMR connections, or would the additional LMR runs need to be made?

The RUTM50 should likely function similarly, or even better, than the RUTX11, as it features a Cat 19 modem compared to the RUTX11’s Cat 6.
For testing purposes, I’d recommend connecting the antenna to ports 0 (first) and 3 (last), i.e., the ones located on the sides, and then comparing performance with the setup using ports 0 (first) and 1 (second) from the left side of the back panel.
