RUTX11 no connect toharbor wifi

Hi there,
I have a RUTX11 on my sailing vessel installed 3 month ago and everything went very well.
Access to the harbor wifi and SIM happened all the time, failover working great.
8 days ago, the wifi access collapsed and never came back, irrespective new configuration, new firmware or a total reset.
This evening, the wifi connected shortly after a couple of hours but chnged back to swap between idel and searching, but on the wan site the SSID kept down, so no internet, even though the scan can find it easily.
RUTX11 firmware RUTX_R_00.07.14.3
Any help is very much appreciate.
Screenshots are available if of interest.

Thanks Michael

Assuming you can connect OK to the WiFi using your phone and the antenna plugs are firmly secured on the back of the RUTX …

Try disabling any other 2.4GHz SSID’s on your RUTX and see if that makes a difference. I believe the functionality on your device is delivered using the ‘Travelmate’ package as a default, and they recommend that the SSID of the ‘WiFi as WAN’, should be the only SSID running on that frequency.

Not sure if it’s applicable to your connection but you might have to enable NETWORK > WIRELESS > SSIDs > [insert your SSID name] > ADDITIONAL SETTINGS > REDIRECT CAPTIVE PORTAL

In very rare instances (the harbour / supply chain may have made infrastrucure changes), you may have to disable rebind protection. With rebind protection on, the router discards upstream responses that return a private address i.e. discards upstream RFC1918 responses. When enabled, the device will not resolve domain names for internal hosts. Find this at NETWORK > DNS > GENERAL. If this doesn’t make any difference, then it’s better to leave rebind protection on, for secure purposes.

Thanks for the info.
Unfortunately, nothing you recommended provided a chnge.
I tried a full reset, but the reset button on the device did not work.
So I did a reset to factory setting at web gui; at least I got a conection to the harbor wifi, and RUT wifi shows as running, but still no wlan.
Harbor wifi is running on iphone and ipad.

I see you are still running two SSID’s on 2.4GHz - we only want the ‘jachthaven’ SSID running on that frequency. You can enable the 5Ghz SSID for devices to connect to your router.

Does the marina run a captive portal?

At NETWORK > WIRELESS > SSID > jachthaven > GENERAL SETUP > NETWORK … should be set to ‘wifi1’

At NETWORK > WAN > wifi1 > PHYSICAL SETTINGS … I believe that ‘Bridge interfaces’ should be ‘off’, and ‘Interface’ should read ‘-- No interface --’

That’s about all I can suggest other than you could try ‘Multi AP’ mode, see below … rarely, after you have turned on the Multi AP SSID and the WiFi1 WAN interface, the router needs a reboot for them to take.

Multi AP mode is great for when you have to hook up to many different SSID’s when you travel around, as you can enter the credentials, and they’ll always be in the router.

Thanks a lot for your well documented response.
I did a full reset again and disabled the internal RUT wifi, only 5G were enabled, but no luck.
I then followed your MultiAP settings and were able to find a different wifi that I am now connected with.
Seems to be an issue with the harbor internet, I have to discuss with the harbor master.
Again thanks a lot, your support was very much appreciated.
