RUTX11 - no additional hosts file in GUI

Hi, I’m using RUTX11 since a few years and I remember a few years back there was an option in LUCI to add additional hosts file for DNS, while now (firmware RUTX_R_00.07.05.3) there is no such option…

I still can set it up by adding such a line in /etc/config/dhcp and putting my hosts file on the path I’ve specified, like below.

config dnsmasq
        ...
        list addnhosts '/etc/vuci-uploads/cbid.dhcp.cfg01411c.addnhosts'
        ...

but this is annoying to do not have such option in VUCI now:(

I can add “servers file”, but no option to manage “hosts file” - see “Advanced” options for “DNS”:

I hope this option can be added in next firmware version.

Hello,

The hosts can be added to the /etc/hosts file.

This option is currently absent from the WebUI. However, it has already been added to the list of proposed features as a ‘nice to have’ feature. Thus, it may potentially be implemented in the future. Yet, I cannot provide a guarantee regarding the timing or certainty of its implementation.
