Good morning, I am running into an issue where the maximum length allowed for an email account password is 64 characters, and the API key for this SendGrid email is 69 characters long, so we are not able to use the email account as needed.
Is it possible to have the password length extended here or is there anything that can be done as a workaround to get this SendGrid email to work with the device?
We apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused. I have forwarded your request to extend the email password length to our RnD team. Once I receive any updates from them, I will let you know.
As a temporary workaround, you can change the password via SSH/CLI using the following steps:
View all your created recipients’ configurations by executing: uci show user_groups
Identify the user group associated with the email address you want to configure, e.g., user_groups.1
Change the password using the following command: user_groups.1.password='<your_password>'
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please note that our developers are aware of the issue you are experiencing, and your suggestion to extend the password length has been acknowledged and is planned for inclusion in a future firmware release.
At the moment, we do not have an exact timeline for when this enhancement will be implemented, but we will keep you informed as updates become available.
The password length should be increased with the RutOS 7.14 firmware version. Unfortunately, I don’t have an exact date yet, but I will update you as soon as I have more information.
