RUTX11 as file server

We have our files on a USB 3.1 stick inserted in the RUTX USB type C port. File service is over 5G. The RUTX USB port is USB 2.0 and I think this is why file service is quite slow.

To get better file service performance, I think I need to upgrade to a modem router that supports USB 3.1. I’d like to stick with Teltonika as I’ve found the RUTX reliable over time. However I haven’t been able to determine from Teltonika docs whether there is a Teltonika modem/router with a USB 3.1 interface.

Any advice on how to improve file server performance with a modem router is appreciated.

Thank you.

Greetings, @Wibble,

Thank you for your question.

Using a USB 3.1 drive can provide higher performance compared to a USB 2.0 drive; however, the actual data transfer speed will be limited by the USB port on the device. At present, our portfolio does not include devices equipped with USB 3.x ports.

Additionally, you may subscribe to our newsletter via Teltonika-networks.com → Company → Newsletter to receive updates on the latest news and upcoming devices. This will ensure you are informed if and when a device with this hardware feature becomes available.

I hope this answers your question.

Best regards,
V.
