I have a new RUTX10 which has a very long start-up time of over 1 minute. The behavior can be described by the two WiFi LEDs: After switching on, they light up after 2 seconds for about 10 seconds and then go out. After approx. 65 seconds they light up again and only then can the device be accessed via 192.168.1.1 via LAN1, for example.
To rule out own incorrect settings, I carried out a factory reset and did not make any settings. The behavior is then also as described above. The firmware is the current RUTX_R_00.07.15.4.
Is this behavior normal or have I received a defective device?
In the first instance, I would like you to use the device after a full bootloader reset. This unique feature allows you to perform firmware update and reflash the device, which can potentially resolve the issue. Instructions on how to do so : RUTX10 Device Recovery Options - Teltonika Networks Wiki
Many thanks for the quick reply and assistance. Unfortunately, none of the steps mentioned by you helped (I did a full bootloader reset and used the firmware 07.16.3).
I have sent you a form for private communication, please fill in the form, and in ticket ID provide this query ID which is 14971. This form should arrive to your personal email address used to register to this site.
What did you compare the RUTX10 product to? How did you determine that such a startup time for this hardware and software is too long? Then what would be the appropriate time?
My A*** WiFi Router needs approx. 50 sec. to be ready including VPN, NTP etc. The RUTX10 needs around 85 sec. with WAN, NTP, etc. all disabled. So I just asked myself if this is normal or not.
Mine’s a RUTX50 and takes nearly two minutes to reboot. I do have a USB drive attached set up as a network shared drive. This could possibly explain why mines so slow restarting.
Nothing gets internet access, and the router itself is inaccessible for nearly two minutes.
Don’t know if this is normal, but it’s become my normal!
Had an AnyDesk meeting with very helpful and skilled Teltonika support today. Everything’s fine with my device. Support confirmed power up time is approx. 80 seconds and I (we) have to live with that. Other (modern) Wifi-routers seem to have similar power up times. As the RUTX10 is otherwise just great it will be a keeper.
