After having good experience with the RUTM09, we bought another Teltonika router model RUTX09.
During ongoing testing in the field, it turns out that this device for some reason looses the SIM multiple times a day, as such dropping the Tailscale connection and remote access. Which is rather annoying because that’s why we installed the router.
When running, all signal levels are appropriate and the connection is good. It is therefore strange that the SIM is suddenly lost.
What we also noticed is that after a soft reboot (it happened after upgrading the firmware today, but also when I do a reboot via the webGUI), the modem does not seem to function (it says ‘Interface can’t be edited because modem is blocked or disabled’). A power cycle fixes this. EDIT: actually sometimes when we did the power cycle it also did not come up. But today it worked to get the modem to work after a soft reboot.

The problem appeared with using two different SIM cards.
The SIM was cleaned today and reseated. Afterwards, it worked stable for multiple hours, before going down again. In the meanwhile it happened at least four times again.
We can share logs etc if necessary.
Can we maybe get the previous firmware, if more stable?
We configured a system reboot when pinging fails. Although this saved the connection for a day or so, at a certain point the modem did not restart and the device restarted every 15 minutes for two days until we got access to it and did a cold restart.
Afterwards, we turned off Volte, and auto APN. Also, instead of rebooting, we configured restarting the modem. Initially the connection was very stable for around 6-7 hours, and then the connection was lost and never came back. (likely a modem restart is triggered every 10 minutes, but this does not help. A cold reboot seems necessary).
All by all, it seems pretty clear there is an issue with the modem. Either the firmware or the hardware itself.
