RUTX 50 - Ltest firmware problem... maybe

Not 100% sure, but something in the most recent firmware is causing my internet to drop - from the 5g side.

Downgraded it and its worked for 5-6 hours thus far.
Now on RUTX_R_00.07.10.2
gui says to upgrade to RUTX_R_00.07.11.3

07.11.3 is okay - can you try to stay on IPv4 only and Auto APN?

11.3 was the version that was dropping out, the older versions has been working for 24 hours now, any good reason to upgrade to 11.3?

Hi…

Do your device have VoLTE?
Try to keep it OFF.

tried that no difference

Signal?

Hi Marcelo
Not sure I understand about the signal, all I’ve done to get a successful connection is downgrade the firmware… the signal is the same:

There’s 129 fixes, improvements, new stuff and CVE’s bewteen 07.10.2 and 07.11.3.
The changelog will tell you if there’s a “reason” or not:

RUTX50 Firmware Downloads - Teltonika Networks Wiki

I suggest you go to 07.11.3 and untick ‘Keep Settings’ when hitting the upgrade button.
Just IPv4 only and Auto APN afterwards.

Also make sure you’re running on the latest modem firmware as well.
Should be RG501QEUAAR12A11M4G_04.200.04.200
If you’re still on 08 instead of 11 then upgrade this one as well through the GUI.

Thank you

I had only IPv4 and tried both Auto APN and manually entered - made no difference.

The modem firmware is RG501QEUAAR12A11M4G_04.201.04.201
which seems to be one on from yours?

I’ll carry on with the firmware I’m on just now RUTX_R_00.07.10.2,
as it seems to work, and 11.3 doesn’t seem to be happy here.

Next try: set it to 4G only.

Thank you

Tried that too - no difference, 2-3 hours and it dropped out and did not reboot or reconnect.

Hi…

My understand about signal, is:
RSRP should be better then RSRQ… Maybe I am wrong…

Read here…

You have the correct latest modem firmware

Hi

All my RSRPs are lower than my RSRQs - (assuming -100 is less than -10)

Hello.

We would like to review the logs from your RUTX50 when it drops connection on the 7.11.3 firmware. I have sent you a form to fill out. Once completed, I will contact you privately regarding this. For the ticket ID, please use “11261”.

Best regards,

I can say that i have the same issue with a RUTX50 on a site , worked fine before upgrade to “RUTX_R_00.07.12”

Now mobile drops and wont reconnect, even with Watch dog(Auto Reboot) on wan ping and mobile connect restart wont help, i had to change watchdog to reboot…

But full reboot works fine, it’s already on 4G only as there is no mode for 5/4G…

Hi
Teltonika came to the conclusion that something in the non-happy config was lost in the downgrade to an earlier version and did not recur in the upgrade. It’s been good for some weeks now, so I go along with that, try it yourself?

I am pleased enough with the RUTX50 and the support to have purchased a second one
for use elsewhere

ok so for just simly reset config was the solution ?

Well, downgraded, which - apparently - wiped any config, so it it reborn with 100% defaults
then upgraded which adopted those working values. No problems since

i went on site, did factory reset, Upgraded again. But problem persist , every 2 hours autoreboot hits the fan due to ping timeout. I guess ill simply downgrade and let it be.
