RUTM52 Questions

Hello I’ve got a question about RUTM52

Does it allow bonding? In LTE/5G mode with 2 SIM cards

Or allow it only failover?

Could any one tell me the truth about this router?

Is bonding without this Package available?

is it possible to power up the rutm52 & rutx50 with 19V 3A

???

Hi,

It can be powered by a 9-50 VDC power supply.

Hello,

Thank you for your message. I will address your questions one by one:

Does it allow bonding in LTE/5G mode with 2 SIM cards?

The RUTM52 supports dual modems, allowing both modems to operate simultaneously. It also includes Load Balancing and Failover features. However, please note that Teltonika Networks devices do not support bonding natively.

Bonding functionality can be achieved using Bondix Intelligence, a third-party solution. More information is available here:

Alternatively, you may consider using our Software Development Kit (SDK), which allows for custom firmware development. With sufficient technical expertise, it may be possible to implement bonding functionality yourself. The SDK can be accessed here:

Please note that implementing such functionality requires a high level of technical proficiency.

Is it possible to power the RUTM52 & RUTX50 with 19V 3A?

If you choose not to use the standard/original power supply unit and want to power the device with a higher voltage (15–50 VDC), ensure that your power supply is of high quality. Some power supplies can produce voltage peaks significantly higher than the rated output, particularly during connection and disconnection.

Based on the specifications, your 19V 3A power supply should work, but for full confirmation, please consult the datasheet of your power supply.

You can find more information about powering options for these devices here:

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask.

Kind regards,

V.

i plan to connect from a mobile power bank … via dc from “litionite Tanker 90W” what hung on a power supply 19V 2A / 230V 50Hz

i plan to connect from a mobile power bank … via dc from “litionite Tanker 90W” what hung on a power supply 19V 2A / 230V 50Hz

Greetings, florit,

Thank you for providing additional information, I have few suggestions and recommendations for you use case:

*Use the PSU that arrives together with the device if possible, assuming you’ve ordered the product code that contains it, while third party options may work, we cannot promise that no damages will occur.

  • If you want to use the Tanker:
    • Set the Tanker output to 12 V (or any 9–50 V the Tanker can supply). 9 V or 12 V is a safe choice.
    • Do not jury-rig connections. Obtain or make a cable/adapter that maps the Tanker barrel output to the RUTM52 4-pin connector with the correct pinout and polarity. The adapter must ensure the Tanker’s + goes only to the router’s V+ pin and Tanker ground to router ground; digital I/O pins must be left unconnected unless intentionally used.
    • Confirm the Tanker’s DC plug center/outer polarity and the adapter wiring so polarity matches the router.
    • Verify the Tanker can supply continuous current and won’t auto-shutdown at your expected load.
  • Alternatively you may consider the Teltonika BAT120 Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). This device is officially tested for compatibility with Teltonika routers and will provide a reliable and supported power solution for your RUTM52.
  • If you plan PoE: the router also supports passive PoE Mode B at 9–50 V via LAN1 — the Tanker is not a PoE injector by itself; to power via Ethernet you’d need a compatible passive PoE injector that takes the Tanker DC output and injects the correct lines into LAN1. (Not recommended unless you have experience with passive PoE wiring.)

Let me know if you have any additional questions,

Best wishes,
V.

hello and thank you for this tip with the bat120

can not use … because need a stay alive time for hours and days

2600mAh goes proxiily 19,23 times in the tanker

and that’s why I use the tanker … the second option is an usv batt but too heavy to move on a hike

for stationary I’ll took a usv with power adapter

and how long stay bat120 autark?

greets florit

The rutx50 with battery System „litionite Tanker“

For now it runs with 12V on 5V the rutx50 Boot Not real up

need 1x 5521 dc cable , 1x Teltonika PR2PD01B adapter , 1x 5521 adapter

I’ve got on 12V/180Wh = 15Ah to zero

^ PoE 30 W , 60 W or 90 W ?

Ist this one good for PoE power up the rutx50 or rutm52 ?

Let me know @Vilius

Greets florit

Hello again,

Thank you for your additional questions.

The BAT120 is primarily designed to function as a UPS rather than a portable power bank. As a result, it provides only a limited runtime for connected devices and may not fully meet your needs for extended portable use.

How long can the BAT120 operate independently?

Approximate uptime:

  • RUTX50
    • Idle power ≈ 4.8 W → 17 ÷ 4.8 = 3.54 hours → ≈ 3 hours 32 minutes
    • Maximum power ≈ 18 W → 17 ÷ 18 = 0.94 hours → ≈ 56 minutes 40 seconds
  • RUTM52
    • Idle power ≈ 4.21 W → 17 ÷ 4.21 = 4.04 hours → ≈ 4 hours 2 minutes
    • Maximum power ≈ 13 W → 17 ÷ 13 = 1.31 hours → ≈ 1 hour 18 minutes

Both the RUTX50 and RUTM52 support passive PoE only. Therefore, this switch on its own will not be suitable for powering them. You may want to consider either a passive PoE switch or an active-to-passive PoE adapter. Unfortunately, we do not offer these types of converters, so you may need to look for a third-party alternative.

I hope this clarifies your concerns!

Kind regards,
V.

The device is NOT COMPLIANT with the IEEE 802.3af-2003 standard

The device is NOT COMPLIANT with the IEEE 802.3at standard

The device is NOT COMPLIANT with the IEEE 802.3bt standard

that’s bad news for me … there’s only the method to power up with the Litionite Tanker

and the only option for at home with PoE is to power up the unifi ap with standard IEEE 802.3at

but then I must use :

witch have 2,5Gbe connections and the needle ear is the router for home use

for hike ist only the needle ear the cellular uplink … but in most cases on mobile enough

well … that’s a plan

thank you
