RUTM51 only data sim 097 nummer no conection?

Hello, I have purchased a RUTM51 and I want to equip it with a data sim card, it has a 097 number. Unfortunately I can’t get a connection. I get the error message ‘‘emm error’’ when I install a 06 sim card there is a connection is the RUTM51 not compatible with a data sim? I would like to hear it. Greetings Frank

Good afternoon,

Here are a few troubleshoot steps that have helped in your situation :

Please check what firmware version does the device have, and upgrade it to the newest. Link : https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUTM51_Firmware_Downloads

Also please see if all of the antennas are correctly screwed on the device. Please clarify whether you use Teltonika original antennas, or third party?

Please try to also manually check, and choose operator. Instructions : https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUTM51_Mobile#Network_selection

I would also like for you to change your APN from auto, to custom. I would either need to know what mobile provider you use, or you can simply find out, what apn your mobile provider uses, and manually type it in in WEBUI. Instructions : https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/Auto_APN#How_to_configure_custom_APN

Lastly, if none of those steps work, please try to restart connection in WEBUI by going to Status → Network → Restart connection

Please also try another, working and tested sim, to see if the device connects to your provider.

Send us a screenshot of WEBUI Network → Wan page to check whether you get an IP adress.

Thank you for your quick response, I have now canceled the contract so retesting is not an option. But if I am sure it is possible I will order a new one. So my question remains, can an only data sim with a 097xxxxxxx number be placed in the RUTM51?

Hi there,

As long as the data sim gets an IP address from the ISP, and the ISP supplies the internet connection, it will work.

There are no obstructions for your specified phone number format not to work.
