Guys,
See if I’m making a mistake somewhere. I configured the RUTM50 hotspot with SMS OTP, with unlimited default settings. It works the first time I access it. I receive the SMS and can browse the site. However, if I log out or disconnect due to idle-timeout and try to reconnect, I get an invalid password error. Am I making a mistake?
No, there’s no mistake in your hotspot configuration. The One-Time Password (OTP) is designed to be validated only once. If we allowed users to log in with the same password again, it would mean validating it multiple times, which isn’t feasible.
Furthermore, with the RutOS 7.11 firmware release, a “MAC Authentication” option will be added to the SMS OTP mode. When enabled, this feature allows users to log in automatically if they have previously authenticated with SMS OTP on the same device. This means that even if you disconnect from the access point, you will be automatically logged in without the need to re-register.
