Today I updated the software to version RUTM_R_00.07.22 (previously .21.3) and I have the exact same problem as described: RUTX50 Internal Modem Update Failed - #14
I can supposedly update the modem, but it won’t work. I’m using e-SIM. Interestingly enough… the installation of additional packages in this ZeroTier also stopped because it was waiting for a network connection, but I do have a network connection because I connected via RMS… and I managed to upload the ZeroTier package for my software version normally, using the upload method, and this service is working properly… what’s this new problem? The text on the image says: “Internal modem update failed.”
The modem is not ready.
I must sadly admit that since purchasing this device, I’ve had nothing but problems. It broke the day after I started it up, but was later repaired so sloppily that I had to remove the board and fix the foil/sponge on the heatsinks. Now I have a software problem: after installing version 7.22, I couldn’t update the modem at all. The packages that should have updated themselves also didn’t load, so I manually installed them. The device periodically reported… no modem. I was furious. I downgraded to7.21.1, and then the modem firmware updated, but the settings were erased (after the downgrade). Now the update went through correctly to 21.3, but I’m afraid to install any lower software.
