On a RUTM08 router running firmware RUTM_R_00.07.19.4, the “Override MAC address” configured on the WAN interface is not applied after a reboot.
Although the override address remains correctly visible in the WebUI after the reboot, the device actually uses the original HW MAC address. This causes connectivity issues with ISPs that require a specific fixed MAC.
Current Workaround: To fix this, I must change the MAC override to a different value (e.g., change the last digit), click “Save & Apply,” then change it back to the original value and click “Save & Apply” again. After these steps, it works as expected.
Steps to reproduce
Go to Network - Interfaces - WAN
Set Override MAC address to a custom value
Save & Apply
Reboot the router
Check the WAN interface MAC - the interface uses the original HW MAC address instead of the configured override
I have tested this behavior on multiple firmware versions, specifically 07.19.4 and 07.20.1, and was able to consistently reproduce the issue on both. Based on these results, I have forwarded the case to our R&D team for a deeper investigation.
Once I receive any updates or findings from the R&D team, I will make sure to inform you promptly.
I have received confirmation from our R&D team that the issue will be resolved in the upcoming firmware version 07.22. Once the firmware is released, you can update your device and the issue should be resolved.

For now, I kindly ask you to wait a little longer for the new firmware release.
