Rutc50 external antenna on boata

Currently I have a rutx50 on my boat. I have a teltonika external antenna with 4 mobile, 1 gps and 2 WiFi. The rutc50 has 3 WiFi. Can I connect the antenna to the rutc50 and then use the supplied stubby WiFi antenna in the boat for the extra port. Or is this sub optimal?

Greetings,

This should work, but it is possible that it could cause some connectivity issues (dropouts, bad signal, worse speeds, etc.); this is especially apparent when it comes to mobile connections. You may simply test this out to see if it functions to your standard. We’ve had a few cases where clients were using a setup similar to what you’ve described and have had no issues whatsoever.

Hello Maya’s. Is there an external antenna I can buy for the rutc50 that does have the three WiFi? I’ve been looking and cannot see one

Sorry. Mata!

Hi, David,

These antennas are compatible with the RUTC50:

And our partner’s antenna:

I believe there are more antennas available; however, I wasn’t able to specifically find any with 3x Wi-Fi connector cables. Out of our portfolio, none like that exist that’s for sure, but you may look through QuMax’s portfolio and you may be able to find one that suits you.

Yes. I have the one in the middle. But it only has two WiFi aerials to attach to the router. Which has three inputs. Hence my original question.

Ok. So I have found a 9/1 antenna. Poynting. Which has 4 WiFi aerials. Would this work please.

Hello,

Since it is a Poynting antenna, you would have to reach out to their support to ask whether it’s compatible or not. I wasn’t able to find any information regarding compatibility with the RUTC50. In the webpage of the antenna, I don’t see Teltonika listed as a compatible partner as seen below:

Fair enough. It looks like teltonika do not do an external antenna for the rutc50 yet that is suitable. Bit of a pity. Thanks anyway.
