RUTC50 - EE SIM backup to BT Fibre Broadband

Hi,

I have BT full fibre broadband as my primary internet access. I want to use my RUTC50 purely as a failover in the event of an issue with the fibre service. I have an EE SIM to provide the RUTC50 with internet access. LAN port 1 is connected to the secondary WAN interface on my Ubiquiti Gateway. The Gateway will handle failover if the primary route goes down.

What is the best way to configure the RUTC50? I feel like I want to put it into modem mode or similar. I’m not even sure if that is a thing on the device. I don’t need the WiFi on the RUTC50.

Has anyone else done this or similar? I’d appreciate the benefit if your experience if you have.

Thanks in advance

Just inserted SIM card in router, enter PIN if needed and check if connection established and can reach internet without problems (can check status in Status->Network->Mobile page, https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUTC50_Network#Mobile). For WiFi you can go to Wireless page to disable WiFi (https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUTC50_Wireless).
