Thank you for reaching out! The RUT956 fully supports your use case. Here’s how to configure it:

Go to Services → Mobile Utilities → SMS Utilities and edit the “Change I/O state” rule (default text: ioset) or create a custom rule with your preferred trigger text (e.g.,
YourRuleName). -
In the rule settings, set the Action to “Change I/O state”, select the relay output connected to your installation, and set the State to OFF (open) to cut power.

Enable “Send response SMS” within the rule to automatically send a confirmation message back to the sender.

For security, restrict the Allowed number(s) to sender number and set an Authorization method (e.g., by password). The SMS would then be sent as:
YourPassword YourRuleName
Once configured, the router will open the relay and reply with a confirmation SMS as required.
